Enterprise Employees

BluesPAC is the employee-driven political action committee of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Blue Care Network, the Accident Fund Group, LifeSecure and Emerging Markets.  BluesPAC affords us an opportunity to show support for legislators and candidates who share similar views on issues of importance to our company, industry, employees and communities.

BLUESPAC EXPANDS TO INCLUDE ALL ELIGIBLE SUBSIDIARY EMPLOYEES

WHY JOIN BLUESPAC

Lawmakers have the authority to make decisions that directly impact our business.  Our bi-partisan political action committee gives us a voice in Lansing, Washington, DC and in many local municipalities to communicate the interests and objectives of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and its subsidiaries.  With insurance being a heavily regulated industry, a strong presence in government is a necessity.  Our PAC is one tool that helps our business to remain healthy and strong giving us a bright future as a leader in our industry.  Our competitors are using their own employee political action committees to do the same.

MEMBERSHIP

Eligible employees can join BluesPAC at any time.  Enrollment can be completed electronically by going to the enroll tab under the BluesPAC banner or by hardcopy application by downloading our enrollment form.  Contributions can be made by payroll deduction or personal check.

Under the Federal Election Campaign Act, membership in a federal corporate political action committee is limited to those employees who are both:

  • U. S. citizens or green card holders with permanent resident status and living in the United States
  • Paid on a salary basis and have policymaking, managerial, professional or supervisory responsibilities

We value our members and do our best to offer opportunities as they arise.  All members are invited to our annual meeting and reception generally held in the spring.  On occasion, we also offer tickets at no cost to our members for various political events or fundraisers.

The strong support of our employees has helped us become one of the top corporate political action committees in the State of Michigan.  With continued support from our employees, we hope to remain in this position.  The strength of our PAC allows us to stand out among the numerous other PACs on the local, state and federal levels.
